شركة الفضاء الأوروبية (EADS Astrium) تكشف عن مفهوم طاقة الفضاء

و هي أكبر شركة أوروبية لتطوير علوم و مشاريع الفضاء قد كشفت عن خطط لتطوير نظام من الأقمار الصناعية التي يمكن أن تقدم طاقة كهربائية للأرض, و عي حاليا تبحث عن شركاء لمساعدتها في مهمة تطوير مثل هذه الطاقة الشمسية.
حيث اوضحت شركة Astrium انه قد استغرق 30 عاما من النقاشات و الدراسات للتأكد من امكانية القيام بهكذا مشروع و علق الرئيس التنفيذي للشركة فرنسوا اوكوي بقوله:”نحن اليوم لسنا في مرحلة التشغيل بaل انها مجرد تجربة من أجل تنفيذ الحل ،و بطبيعة الحال ، فإننا بحاجة إلى إيجاد شراكات والاستثمار ، لتطوير النظم التشغيلية”.
بأستخدام مجموعة من الأقمار الصناعية ، سوف تجمع طاقة الشمس ومن ثم توجه الى الأرض محملة على شعاع ليزر و الذي يمكن استخدامه لتوليد الكهرباء, لكن تكلفة هذا المشروع ما زال غير متفق عليها و لكن تظل الطاقة الشمسية لها اهمية كبرى خاصة في عصرنا الحالي نظرا لكونها مصدر نظيف لا ينضب.
ان طاقة الشمس في الفضاء اقوى بكثير مما هي على الأرض كونها ليست بحاجة لأختراق الغلاف الجوي و الغيوم و قد صرحت الشركة انها قد قامت مسبقا يتجارب مخبرية في نقل و استخلاص الطاقة العائدة على الأرض.
و قد اكدت الشركة ان عوامل الأمان اتخذت بعين الأعتبار و أمان إسقاط الطاقة المرتفعة العائدة إلى كوكب الأرض من دون تحرق أي عائق في طريقها.
و قد صرحت الشركة ان هناك العديد من المصاعب التي يجب التغلب عليها قبل البدء بالتنفيذ حيث أوضح كبير مسؤولي التكنولوجيا روبرت لاين: “نحن اليوم, لا نزال محدوين بقوة شعاع الليزر الذي سوف نبنيه, و هذا هي العقبة الرئيسية. و لكن من جهة الأستقبال فإن تقنية تحويل شعاع الليزر الى طاقة تتطور بسرعة كبيرة فنحن نعمل مع جامعة Surrey لتطوير المحولات, و المبدأ هو الحصول على كفاءة عالية جدا في تحويل الأشعة تحت الحمراء (ضوء الليزر) الى كهرباء. فإذا أستطعنا تحقيق 80 ٪ فهذا يعتبر فوز حقيقي”.
